If I recall correctly, only String and maybe Dominic had the ability to fly Airwolf out of the Lair due to their knowledge of complicated air currents within the mountain.
Thus The Firm never bothered to try to steal Airwolf from the Lair.
Why didn't the Firm make a bigger entry hole to the Lair to pull Airwolf out? Surely they can afford a bunch of engineers to ensure it doesn't make the whole mountain collapse?
Alternatively, couldn't they use a Chinook to pull it out? They'd probably need some way to keep Airwolf from hitting the insides of the mountain.
Alternatively, couldn't the Firm disassemble Airwolf and rebuild it? In the very least, they could retrieve the parts of Airwolf that are the hardest to reproduce eg electronics. -

There was an episode where some crooks stole
'the Lady'
right out of her Lair.
And they did indeed use a Chinook to lift her straight up, out of the mountain.
