Avigdor and Yentl should have had their heads shaved(except for the "pais").

I guess Barbra and Mandy didn't like the idea of having all of their hair cut off or maybe they never saw a Jew or even a picture of one from that time and place in history.

Every single movie made about the past is an "imagining" piece of how a time and place was, not a black & white rendering of it. Gosh, how dull every historic tale would be.

Why would making their haircuts realistic result in a "dull" movie ?!
Not doing this is pandering to not making them look too ethnic.
I'd love to see Barbra in with shaved head and "Pais"!! lol.

Why? With hair, she looked a bit "Annie Hall!" Personal opinion, but I think she looked better in drag.

They were not Hasidic Jews. If they had been, Hadass and her mother would have been incorrectly dressed. Their hair styles, etc. as well.
