Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Cujo

Even before he had rabies she didn't want Tad to pet him and he was just being a big old friendly dog. Even after he had rabies he remained adorable. I felt worse for Cujo than anyone else in this movie. R.I.P

I felt sorry for Cujo as well. It wasn't his fault he did all these bad things. It was the disease.

Okay, let the dog kill me. That makes more sense. LOL! May not be his fault but he is a killer.
No more IMDB boards for me!

I felt bad for cujo because he was a victim to extenuating circumstances like most pets usually are. First off, he wasn't properly vaccinated which is indicative of the times and also the rural area to which he lived.
Secondly, the family had issues and were not focused on cujo. They clearly cared but had more important things going on and didn't notice he was getting ill.
The whole thing could've been avoided and it just snowballed. I love animals but I would've killed cujo if it were me and my child with no hesitation.
Great book and movie. Stephen King is genius. Maine forever!
