I haven't seen a post on this or anything in the FAQ, but why did Rambo take Galt's jacket off him yet never use it?
Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is very bad.

Just watching it now (for the umpteenth time!). Good point. He doesn't actually wear it once. Unless it's what he uses to make the scarecrow in the scene where the dogs are let loose after him?

Huh.. I've seen this for umpteen times plus about another 5 percent after that, and never thought about it being part of the scarecrow.
I'm going to have to watch it yet AGAIN! (like I wasn't )

The plot thickensjust watched the scene again. He takes Galt's jacket and you see him run off with it (and his rifle). It's nowhere in sight though when he's stitching his arm. However, when Teasle scopes Galt's body with the binoculars from the cliff edge, Galt's clearly weaing his jacket????!!!!
Unlesshe appears to take the jacket, but he's taking his rifle and it's something else under his arm when he legs it off?
It's probably a silly continuity error

I thought he took Galt's rifle and radio, not his jacket.

^^ No he definitely had the jacket. I've always wondered why he never wore it either. Perhaps it was because it limited his arm movement. Plus it wouldn't have been useful when he went into stealth/camouflage mode picking off the police one by one. The color of it didn't mesh with the forest at all.

You can definitely Galt's jacket in the scene where he is stitching his arm, bottom right of the screen, and i always thought he used it for the scarecrow, after all it was split after Galt fell

Maybe after getting grazed by that bullet when he tries to give himself up, he just ditches the jacket and runs for his life.

Rambo used Galt's jacket as bait for the dogs that were tracking him.
The jacket had Galt's blood on it. The blood was fresh. So the dogs would pick up that smell over Rambo's.
So Rambo set up a trap for the dogs. He set up the scarecrow for the police to find. Notice that the dogs run past the scarecrow when they're released. Rambo was waiting for the dogs knowing that they'll go for Galt's jacket. Once Rambo killed the dogs. The police had lost the ability to track Rambo. And Rambo was able to pick off the police one by one.
