Near the beginning when George C. Scott's character is reading the list of people killed (I have only seen this scene two or three times, so parts of it are kinda rusty), there is a guy at the end of the room playing taps on the trumpet. That's my dad, who was a student at Valley Forge when Taps was being filmed.

That is cool. Does your dad have any good stories about working on
the film? I live near Valley Forge now, and my mom taught at Valley
Forge Junior H.S. when TAPS was being filmed. Some of her students, who
were just local public school kids, were in the film as extras. Little did
they know at the time that they were working with young actors who would
soon enough be world famous. -

All cadets in any military program, academy, ROTC, etc., are taught to be that way no matter what they are doing. Acting, obviously, is no exception.

I knew a couple of guys who were students at Valley Forge Military Academy when the original 1981 movie was being filmed, and believe me, there is no way in hell that school would ever let another movie be filmed there again .. one of my ex- student friends said that the film makers told the school that they were filming a documentary, and the next thing anyone knew, they were blowing things up.. needless to say , the school was pretty pissed.. as a matter of fact, a couple of years later, the makers of " The Lords of Discipline" wanted to film that movie at Valley Forge and they were told to get lost.. so the simple answer to your question, would be no..
But I agree with you , I think it would be nice to have your son be a part of that experience..
