    Pros:

    1. I liked the location
    2. Quality performances (at times)
    3. Interesting cinematography
      Cons:
    4. So. Much. SHOUTING!
    5. Grossly exaggerated performances (at times)
    6. WTF was up with Heinrich? Seriously, that was one weird gentleman.
    7. It's ok when things aren't explained, but I do appreciate a clue now and again.
Normally, I like films like this, a little surreal, a little loose in the storytelling, but this one was just a bit too messy for me to get into. I was hanging in there until the baffling subway scene (baffled as in why they chose to do it in such an over-the-top way), then it went somewhat downhill from there.
I'd possibly watch it again, but I can't imagine the circumstances in which I'd do so.

Some films certainly aren't accessible to the common layman.

Keep tipping that fedora F aggot, this movie is as incoherent as hell and like OP said that subway scene OMG was that woman annoying. If she had an sex appeal that scene ruined it. Nothing like 15 minutes of yelling and whipping around groceries to build suspense, this directors the next kubrick or hitchcock maaaaan!!

Andrzej Zulawski is one of the greatest film directors of all time.

Pretty much same for me. And that subway scene - it lasts so long, but there's nobody in sight in the subway the entire time.
