Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Galaxy of Terror

    BytheWeiV — 5 months ago(October 22, 2025 10:54 PM)

The imdb list Galaxy of Terrors released date as October 1 1981 so its now the 44th anniversary of its realse in the USA. There really hasnt been anything announcement or anything on it. My friend in America said years ago one of his horror magazines did an article on its “convoluted” releasing. He had learned it had a roll out center on drive ins in alot of places. Some US states had it realsed under the Planet of Horrors in the middle west like states of Ohio. It was also making rounds as early as August or September 1981 as Mindwarp before the later branding of Galaxy of Terror later on the year. So hard to maybe nail down a set release date or even infos on its premiere or completion or test audience showings.
I just spoke with him the other day and he says Shout will post up hey this movie or this movie was released today ____ years ago. He said he followed them years ago when the 40th anniversary hit but they didnt say anythings. I know it’s a small unknown movie or maybe Shout is embarrassed due to content in it. My friend recently at a big convention talk to the Neca toys company who make figures for Shout special editions but learned a bit on licensing of things. So I say happy 44 anniversary to the people involved with the movie. Maybe Taaffe will soon work out a deal to release to Shout the cut footage she has and we can get an extend edition.
I still continue to work on artworks based on GOT using AI tools and stuffs. I have a really bad work schedule so I dont have too much time to work on things. I get a really good model I hope to use in the generations as it gets better monthly. It also now works out fine details on costumes that I have references photo for from Tokyo Comic Con displays years ago. I will work harder on it in the future
