I was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier uss kitty hawk.
The aircraft carrier nimitz was used in the film, but the kitty hawk was used in one partnear the end of the movie the carrier comes into pearl harbor hawaii, and that part uses the kitty hawk
one day in about 1980 the kitty was coming into pearl harbor.and they told us that if we wanted to be in a movie, to get into our dress white uniform and go topside on the flight deck.I did so they had us line up on the decka helicopter flew near the shipthat had the camera on ityou cannot see my face in the movie as the heli and camera are about a hundred yards away from the shipyou can just see a bunch of sailors lined up on the carrier flight deckone of them is mepretty good movie

I too was on Kitty Hawk, in a film, and not able to be picked out.
Clear and Present Danger.
Kitty Hawk was used to film the shots of the Fighter taking off and landing that dropped the bomb on the Cartel. I was up in Vulture's Row during filming.
I joined the Navy to see the world, only to discover the world is 2/3 water!
