I always wondered this myself. Same as Quopeg the tattooed guy off Caymen's ship. I imagine he perished along with Caymen on the ship but you never saw him so maybe he's still there on Akir somewhere..

He was seen fighting alongside Cowboy's ground forces. However, once he had launched that long spear he would (at best) have only been armed with melee weapons, so was most likely gunned down.
