Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — 1941

    DMB_Lover — 11 years ago(July 23, 2014 10:33 AM)

Although available this October first as part of a new box set (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Steven-Spielberg-Directors-Collection-Blu-ray/107538/) there should be little doubt this titles will eventually see release as standalone Blu-rays.
The best news? The 1941 Blu-ray will contain both the 118 minute theatrical edition of the film as well as the 146 minute extended edition both created from director-supervised new transfers from the original film elements! Both film cuts will feature 5.1 dts-HD Master Audio options.
Hopefully with both these cuts on the same disc they'll use seamless branching like the BD50 of Close Encounters Sony did with three versions of the film on it.
Here are the full specs of the box set, each of the four films not previously available on Blu-ray before now, 1941, Always, Sugarland Express and Duel, all feature new transfers from the original film elements:

I'm looking forward to the set, although I've questioned myself about why "Schindler's List" and "Munich" aren't part of the set, even though they're Universal releases. They're even considered two of Steven Spielberg's best films.

I guess they wanted to focus on the first few films from Spielberg and that if they put too many films in the collection, they couldn't keep the set at a fairly affordable price.
How did I find out I didn't pass my piss test?
When they said "Urine big trouble.
