a movie with a lotta problems
the main one was, the buried lead, this film's Danny Noonan i.e. the central young male character who is surrounded by the more fun and beloved cast including SNL members
that being Bobby DiCicco
he's just HORRIBLE in this movie
the only reason he was picked at all to be the lead (and he would NEVER be the lead in ANY other movie) is that he can dance, and this is a musical
but I'm sure more people wanted Treat Williams to kick his ass
he's uncomfortable to look at, short, and just such a weak presence
and he would have NEVER gotten a piece of ass like that Dianne Kay, EVER

Partially agreed, but the kid could move and that is where his charisma extends from. He was young like Betty so I don't see this as a huge problem and she was pretty much generic herself.
The bigger star cast rounded out their blandness on the screen.
I don't have much a problem with the film otherwise, it could have been trimmed down to about 110mins, and while crazy wild, zany and pandemoniac and not witty funny, it certainly is a visual feast for the eyes and the riotous slapstick is still amusing.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?
