Just wanted to say it's such a great episode. Especially the scene where she passes away. It's so simple and sweet. He holds her and says "oh mama". Saddest episode they did. But also when Clayton thinks he's getting measured for a tux and it's the casket guy really funny. Great mix.

You know, the basic premise of the bit with Clayton and the casket seller had been done in sitcoms before, yet I still laughed when I saw it in "Benson." But I thought one of the episode's best moments was when Clayton entered the kitchen to find Benson there, even though Benson's mother had just died. Rene Auberjonois did a really nice job conveying Clayton's surprise and unease with emotion one the one hand, and his sympathy for his friend on the other. It was quite a touching little moment, and perfectly in character for Clayton. Rene is a very talented actor.

I just watched the episode and I agree with both of you. Very well made and acted by Robert and Rene.

I agree as well. They both did a great job in this episode.
