An even better question, why were they written out of the
show (and/or) why did the actors decide to leave? or were they let go?
I can't find any answer to this in any search I've tried.

So , essentially they felt they had too many cast members?
A network like ABC, that was making millions on their
1970s & 1980s TV seriesand they're worried about 2 actors?
Ethan Phillips and Didi Conn don't stike me as actors who would demand (or command) a big salary. Didi Conn may have been in GREASE , but I just don't think she'd be egotistical enough to want too much for this otherwise simple but entertaining role.
