Is there anybody out there who knows if the apartment buildings used in the film still exist and where are they located. I was told by a source that they were in Canoga Park, in the San Fernando Valley, on Vanowen street, but I drove by that way recently and couldn't find them.

There are hundreds of tacky apartment buildings left in Canoga Park, keep looking but Canoga Park doesn't look as nice as it did in the 70's

Yes, I'm happy to report that the apartment buildings still exist! I just posted some recent pictures of them at the AV Maniacs forum. Here's the link:

it should take you to a street view. Move to the right down Ponce pl until you are in the intersection of Ponce and Chase. Look left at the house on the corner. That is the same house that the two guys go to when they go to the uncles house to get the cleaning supplies. If you watch the film just before they pull into the driveway they are coming toward the camera on Ponce. Thats the house on the right.
The house has had a bit of a face lift but structurally its the same.
I have too much time on my hands..

Not just 100's of tacky aparments in Canoga Park, make that 1,000's over the entire valley. Tacky, dumpy and way over priced!!!!!
