it SHOULD be watched as a standalone movie.

Halloween II was okay, but it didn't need the gore or have so many people involved in it's direction. Rosenthal, Carpenter, DeLaurentiis, Universal, Akkad, all had a say. That's what made it a mess.

This coming from a guy who a couple years ago was nearly as obsessed with Halloween II as I was. You're a mess, Dave. Okay? You loved it. Changing his tune after all these years. Pfft!
RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great. -

It's a choice. I've seen it theaters in 2000 and beyond and still consider it standalone. Knowing full well there are other movies, but I can place myself in 1978, in that setting. I don't do that for a lot of movies, but this one's different.
I can even go as far as let myself "walk across the street" with Laurie to the Wallace house. That POV sequence just takes me there. It enhances it for me.

Halloween II is a major decline for me ever since I saw the documentary where so many people bad mouthed it. If the people making it didn't like it, why should I?

uhdo you have a mind of your own? or do you just let your tastes be blown to the four winds by other peoples' opinions? -

You tell him, Josh. And what people? Irwin Yablans? Seems like all the stars loved making it, and are mostly known for only it today, and do conventions and such. Cause one guy, and partially Rosenthal said a negative thing or two, I guess they hate Halloween II? Nutball.
