Unclench your asshoIe, though, and it's actually a lot of fun. My pal had me watch this yesterday: I thought it would be the worst thing ever, but it turned out to be a very enjoyable couple of hours. It looks great, features compelling action scenes, and has a superb score. Waterston and Holbrook are excellent as always, Gould gives one of his best turns, and even the limited Brolin is charming. Far-fetched it is, but isn't Raiders of the Lost Ark? The Terminator? The Dark Knight?
Time for a re-appraisal! -

I think the fact that the premise is pretty preposterous is the key thing that makes this film so much outrageous fun. I love that everyone involved plays it totally straight.
