I remember seeing this low budget TV movie in two parts back in the late 70's.It scared me back then , well I was only 8 years old.So it was nostalgic joy when I discovered it on the Horror Channel on Christmas day a few weeks ago.My favorite scene of the movie has to be the bit where the search and rescue worker is hanging from the icy ledge, desperately trying to climb up before he comes to his awful fate,It is very suspensefull .I thought Bob Logan and big Beau Svenson where quite good in it.It was nice to see it again after all these years.

I'm pretty much the same as you: saw it when I was young and again recently. It was pretty creepy in bits and had a good atmosphere. I can imagine if they did this now, it would just be full of naff CGI/over the top stunts and effects. This film is subtle and it works. The ending is lame, but that was par in those days. The parts I liked most were the out and about scenes, really eerie and used to the max. Like, when the reporter was out there on her own and you could hear it. Can you imagine WS Anderson pulling off something as subtle and chilling as that? I think not!
All in all, I expected this to be naff and it was, but in a good way. Beyond my wildest expectations, I am going to keep this and will watch it again. Bring on Rawhead Rex!!! -

Is this the movie where there is an overturned RV and later found with blood leading from the hole in the roof like someone was dragged out and away? If so, then I also saw this when I was 8 (remember watching it with the babysitter while my parents were out!) and it scared the Bejeezus out of me!! I actually had nightmares for years!!
So you can actually find this to buy now?? HOW???? I imagine I'll think it's lame and it won't scare me, but it sure would be interesting to visit an old friend/fear!! -

Its in a pack of 50 or so "Drive in Movies" put out by Mill Creek. I got it last week in Best Buy. I remember seeing it on tv and it has held up pretty well for a low budget flick. It's actually not bad, not bad at all. Look for Mama Dracula in the box also, with that noted one note Oscar winner Louise Fletcher. Made in 1980 not long after her Oscar win. Did not take long for her to hit the ash can.
