Guys,
This movie is playing on the STARZ channel this month. I only saw the original 1977 cut and the 1980 Special Edition cut. I could have sworn that STARZ showed the Collectors Edition, but could be wrong:
Missing was the following:
Roy helping Brad with his math homework and trying to explain fractions to him.
Toby banging something on a table and Roy yelling at him "Toby! You are close to death!"
Roy wanting to take the kids to see Pinocchio but they all want to play Goofy Golf.
Roy crying in the shower after the famous mashed potato scene, Brad opening and closing the door hard calling him a "Crybaby!" Ronnie trying to calm him down by suggesting they all go for family therapy.
I only remember Roy touring the inside of the Mother Ship in the Special Edition. Is Starz showing the original version or the Collectors Edition?

That would have to be the original version, because both the special edition and director's cut feature the scenes you mentioned. The original version is also the only version that has the scene with Roy at the power plant, Roy seeing a pillow that reminds him of Devils Tower, and with Carl Weathers as a military police when Roy arrives in Wyoming.

Thanks for your post. I just started another thread with a question about Starz's deleted scenes. Maybe I'm remembering either the director's cut or the add'l scenes version. (Was pissed that I paid to see the latter in a theater, when the end scene with Roy seeing the inside of the ship was an utter letdown. Rip-off, after all the hype it got!)

Didnt know their were other versions. Maybe I should check them out. It might make the film better.
