How did Chester get out of facing embezzlement charges? Did I miss something in season 2?

I think when they proved he was sick, he was no longer responsible for those charges or for finishing out his sentence for murder.

In a later episode - once Burt is Sheriff, Chester and Dutch are at the Sheriff's office and the discussion mentions them being there for their weekly meeting with their probation officer.
But the embezzlement and murder charges seem to be forgotten about, for all intents and purposes, once Chester escapes from jail.
