Nobody ever talked about Mary being so old being pregnant. If Danny and Jodie are in their late 20's than Mary must have been at the very youngest 45, but closer to 50. It's not that easy to get pregnant in your 40's. Her age was never talked about was it?

I don't remember if they made a big deal about Mary's late in life pregnancy, but they probably did since weird things were always happening on this show. I have known a number of people who have gotten pregnant late in life, though, including my own mother and without the assistance of modern medicine . I think women have an easier time getting pregnant late when they really don't want to be pregnant than if they are trying and doing everything they can to conceive. The oldest pregnancy I have personally known about was a 50-year-old woman.

our view of "geriatric" has changed over the years as well. 50 in 1977 was "older" today, it is the babes on Hot in Cleveland.
I know a woman who got pregnant with twins at 54.. she thought she had a tumor and SURPRISE..youre pregnant.
I think on the show it was assumed the baby was the alien's and with an alien, who knows? -

The closest they ever got to even mentioning age was in a throwaway joke in the season 3 finale: Mary says to Jessica, "I don't know how I'll get by without my older sister." Jessica immediately turns it around and insists that Mary is older than her, not the other way around!! This goes on for a few seconds, and then is dropped. No one's age is ever mentioned, but that is the moment when Mary goes into labor.

You have to remember that this show is a send up of "straight" soap opera's, and considering Burt's alien abduction and apparent invisibility, Danny being ordered to kill his step father, Chuck thinking Bob was a real person, Jessica having an affair with her step nephew etc a late pregnancy for Mary is not too much of a stretch.
If Mary was maybe 17 when she gave birth to her first child, she might have only been in her early to mid 40's when she fell pregnant in the show.
