Gripper will always be my favourite (Mark Savage is actually doing quite a lot of movie work now)
Having just watched Series 21 for the first time i gotta say Sean Pearce comes in second. He had such a menacing look that he could turn on and off
Booger Benson was cool because you didn't get to see too much of him
Imelda Davis was as nasty as a girl bully could be and she introduced a lot of psychological warfare
Gluxo Remington was a bit naff but had the best name
Mauler Mccaul was always a bit of a bumbling bully, i think after Gripper he was made not too nasty -

I haven't gotten that far yet, but so far I have to agree that Booger and Gripper are very good. Quite well written and acted. I hate them both.

Doyle started out to be a good one, but he's more of a git than anything else, and I was glad to see that Tommy Watson saw through him and sided up with Tucker. -

Hi Prem Raj,
Long time no speak - hope your ok? True what you say about Trev bullying Vince about his tie being bullying in the extreme, but bhoy man was it a class line and class way to go about it too!! I bet if Vince had worn it thin it might of made Trev think twice! Pootr Vince though then he got his next new tie cut by Imelda! -

Harcourt was good for a short run, but Doyle was the main bully back then.
Bullies came and went during the early years(78-81). Then in the 1981 series we had Doyle, who was on his way out. Booga Benson and a younger Stebson.
Had Benson stuck around, I think he would've left a bigger mark than Gripper. But, Gripper was the one the writers wanted to develop and that they did. By 1983, he was definitely the scariest of the lot. -

Gripper was probably the most terrifying out of all of them, mean looking toerag, Mark Savage was apparently a nice guy in real life and got so much stick from the public for his role.
Imelda Davis was a close second, but she was hot as well (back in the day, and still is) so if she came at me like she did with Ziggy I probably would have kissed her.
Booga Benson was more like light comedy relief, his accent was too funny to be taken seriously.
Trevor Cleaver would have got battered if he tried to bully anyone at my school, and after his drinking phase he turned out alright, I remember him helping Danny Kendall when he nearly fainted.
Mauler McCall turned out to be okay when he told a girl his name was Francis, quite a good chef if I remember rightly.
Grange Hill's first girl bully was Jackie Heron, she looked 30 at the time, not convincing.
Not forgetting Michael Doyle, too small to be a real threat but had a nasty streak about him. I think Tucker bashed him up a few times.
