    In the 1933 movie the freighter was the
    Venture
    .
    In 1976 the
    Glomar Explorer
    found Kong and he was carried back in a tank of an oil tanker whose name I forget.
    And I forget the name of the ship in 2005.

      You forgot the names of the ships in the 1976 version too. The "Petrox Explorer" was the research ship, and the "Susanne Onstad" was the ship that brought Kong to America.
