If anyone's in the Texas area on May 31, you might want to participate.
"In honor of the former Shenandoah resident, Davids Dream Run is entering its 10th year benefiting The David Center at Texas Childrens Hospital.
The one mile and five kilometer races are planned for May 31. Registration for both events is planned to begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Market Street H-E-B, 9595 Six Pines Road in The Woodlands.
From there the 1 mile race will begin at 8 a.m. and the 5k at 8:30 a.m.
The event is put on by David Elementary School in recognition of Vetter, who died in 1984 at age 12. Vetter, a former resident of Shenandoah, suffered from severe combined immune deficiency the total lack of an immune system. Since the event started, more than $250,000 has been raised for Texas Childrens Hospital."
