It has been more than four decades since Stanley Kubrick blew minds with 2001: A Space Odyssey, and even to this day, nearly every frame of the 142-minute movie continues to obsess fans. So when this letter started making the rounds online everyone just believed it because of Stanleys reputation.
Is Stanley Kubrick the biggest bad ass director to ever live? I like to think so and when this letter popped up I feel in love a bit more.
The letter is dated 1970, and by time 2010 dropped in 1984, Kubrick had relaxed a bit, and given the film project his sort of half-blessing and even appeared in a cameo (as an illustration on a Time magazine cover). True or not, the letter is pretty AWESOME. Check it all out below!

Kubrick was a violent, angry Jew. This letter is pretty funny. But, the way he treated Shelley Duvall while making "The Shining" wasn't.

Antisemitism is also not funny He was a very gentle man who took extreme measure to bring out performances.
The end always did justify the means however. He did some messed up things to most of his stars and they all said it was part of his genius and brought out some of their best work. Even Shelly Duvall, she said she would do it over again. -

"He did some messed up things to most of his stars".
I would like to hear more about those "messed up things" because I'm quite unsure as to what they might have been - unless calling for an unusually high number of takes and generally being a demanding taskmaster qualify. I'm also unclear what exactly people think it is he did to Shelley Duvall - I'm sure he pushed her harder than most, but the documentary about the making of The Shining, for instance, certainly reveals no signs of any real abuse, instead showing a rather bitchy and uncooperative Duvall as well as Kubrick who is either sardonically ribbing at her or getting annoyed when she makes everybody wait on her. The impression one gets is that the two of them were engaged in some kind of subtle, undeclared battle of wills. Meanwhile, Nicholson reported of no problems with Kubrick whatsoever - could it be because he wasn't being problematic himself?

"A violent angry Jew" as opposed to a know- nothing Anti-Semetic Moron like yourself ? If you knew ANYTHING about Kubrick you would know that he was brought up in a household that was almost secular. They were NOT religious. He was also NEVER know to to be violent and rarely raised his voice. If you believe Duvall was treated poorly by him you know very little about the history of Directors and actors. That being said, the letter has been proven to be a fake.

Why do you confront jmillerdp as being an "Anti-Semitic moron", and rightfully so, I think, but then go on to make excuses for Kubrick, pointing out that he came from an "almost secular" household? For an Anti-Semite, it's not the practice of religion that counts so much as it is the genetic inheritance - which Kubrick couldn't, and probably wouldn't want to, change, even if he could.
