In general, white people get treated a tad better than black people.

Especially in 1975, when it was impossibile to think at a black Usa president.

A "tad" better? It's more than a "tad."

Both of the Willis kids looks were extreme, not like how kids in mixed marriages ought to look like. Looking at Jenny, nobody would know that she had a white father, and looking at Alan who would have guessed that he had a black mother? Both kids would look mixed.

I always wondered why they didn't hire light-skinned or biracial actors to play Jenny and Alan Willis. I'm sure there were some light brown people looking for work at the time.

I totally agree I never could understand why they didn't look slightly mixed. Jenny was very dark, and nobody would even think she had white people in her family much less a parent Allan the same thing

Perhaps since Jennie favored her mother the casting director decided to have Alan favor his father. It may be uncommon but not impossible.

The first Alan Willis, looked more believable as the product of a mixed marriage, instead of the second Alan Willis.
