I just started watching the reruns on Starz and I'd forgotten how great their apartment was. Can anyone confirm how many bedrooms there were? 2 or 3? I assume there were at least 2, 1 for George and Louise and 1 for Florence. But they also had a son early on did Florence get his room when he left or did they have 3 bedrooms? Were all the bedrooms off the living room? I ask because I saw a door in the kitchen that Florence came in and out of, and I wasn't sure if that was a bedroom or a supply room of some sort.

I'm guessing that there's 4 bedrooms: George and Weezy's, Florence's, Lionel's room and the room that Mother Jefferson took her naps in. If not 4 there's at least 3 bedrooms. My thing is, where does Bentley's apartment fit into all this? Seems like there'd be a longer hallway to get to his door.

Bentley's door and the elevator door should've been reversed. It made no sense for his door to be where it was in proportion to the Jeffersons' apartment.

No, I think there were two bedrooms. When Florence moved in to be a full time housekeeper, it was mentioned in that episode that Lionel no longer lived at home because he was married to Jenny, so now Florence had Lionel's old room.

Funny you should say that, because in the episode that aired this week, Mr. Bentley returned to NYC and had to stay at the Jefferson's apartment, and Louise said it was no problem, that he could stay in Lionel's old room. So it must have been a 3 bedroom apartment.

I thought it was 3 bedrooms as well because it seemed as if whenever Florence went to her room (to change, turn in for the night) she went towards the back and Lionel's room was the door on the right from the living room.

Yeah, you know what? Looking at some episodes again on youtube (some are there uncut) it seems there were 3 bedrooms. You have George and Louise's, Lionel's, and Florence's. When Lionel no longer lived there because he got married, some other people used his room, like Florence's mother and Raymond.

Incidentally, George once mentioned 6 bathrooms.

In the first episode, which reran on Starz last week, Louise said the apartment had three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Mystery solved!
