Which character in this movie makes you laugh the most? I've seen this movie so many times, so a lot of the "Put the candle back!" "Walk this way" kind of jokes aren't really funny to me anymore. But no matter what, every time I watch it, I always laugh at Marty Feldman and Madeline Kahn. What are some of the jokes in it that you think stand up to (extremely) repeated viewings?

The scene toward the end of the movie, when they are walking thru the woods, when the Inspecter, played by Kenneth Mars, raises his hand (causing a lot of noise) and goes "shhhh"very subtle, but cracks me up every time

I love that scene!
I also like the scene in the lab.

Feldman and Kahn are wonderful, but the part that really puts me in stitches every time, and with hardly any dialogue at all, yet, is the first few scenes with Frau Bluecher, from her first entrance at the castle door to the "brandy, warm milk, or Ovaltine" bit in the library. Cloris Leachman's facial expressions and reactions just crack me up, and in the latter scene, the interplay between Leachman and Wilder is one of the most professional things I've ever seen on screen.
Gene Hackman's bit as the clueless blind hermit is hilarious no matter how many times I see it; that scene is almost a small play in itself.
And the Sweet Mystery of Life scene (set up long ago in the movie with the discussion of the size of the Monster's organs) is wonderful, nobody but Madeline Kahn could pull that off. "Oh, you men are all alike! Seven or eight quick ones, and you're off with the boys to boast and brag! You better keep your mouth shut! (to herself) Oh, I think I love him!" Kahn at her finest.
As to jokes that aren't so funny anymore, there are a few for me, too: "What knockers!", "There wolf!", Eye-gore's hump and the Inshpecktor's arm, "Quiet dignity and grace", the game of Charades, and maybe a few others. These were hilarious to me the first, oh, twenty times I saw this movie, but now they're wearing a little thin.
And to illustrate how entertaining this movie is, I started watching it on AMC, intending to see just an hour of it, then catch the new episode of
Stargate: Universe
. It's now ten minutes past the hour, and I have no intention of changing the channel, I'm enjoying myself too much.Currently watching:

I agree with all your likes and dislikes to a frightening degree, with the only exception being The Hump, which still works for me every time because of Feldman's subtle and sly performance.
But the virtue of these 'less favorite' bits is surely that we can safely leave the room to take care of personal needs when they appear. (Kenneth Mars has become quite a stranger to me) -

Madeline and Marty were HILARIOUS!
I can't type everything I found funny that these two said; I'd be here for a while!
