IMDb Message Boards Announcement
IMDb is the worlds most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content.
As part of our ongoing effort to continually evaluate and enhance the customer experience on IMDb, we have decided to disable IMDbs message boards on February 20, 2017. This includes the Private Message system.
After in-depth discussion and examination, we have concluded that IMDbs message boards are no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority of our more than 250 million monthly users worldwide. The decision to retire a long-standing feature was made only after careful consideration and was based on data and traffic.
Increasingly, IMDb customers have migrated to IMDbs social media accounts as the primary place they choose to post comments and communicate with IMDbs editors and one another.

I'm going to miss these boards and all of the fun and acquaintances that I had while here. I don't have Facebook or Twitter, but if they provide the same, or a similar experience to these boards, then I will sign up. -

I hate that they are shutting down the boards. Know some of the reason is that people are using social media instead. But I am not on social media at all.
Anyone know of any other good LHOTP message boards? Thank you:) -

Same here, I've never signed up for Facebook or Twitter. But I follow more than just little House on these boards, so I am wondering what a good alternative is, and where I would be able to follow the same shows that I follow here, all consolidated at one site? -

IMDb will be almost pointless without the message boards. There are a ton of entertainment sites to tweet, snap and facebook about. But I loved it here because it was a place to discuss specific shows not just whatever is on today right now at this very moment.
I am gonna miss the discussions about evil Albert and Laura. Saint Pa and Carrie the imbecile.
Yes some topics have gotten out of hand and it mgiht be those few people that ruined these message boards. Its reallly unfortunate. Things were going pretty good for years until recently.
Thanks for all the fun discussions about the show. -

they are out of their everloving minds if they think twitter or facebook are 'cool'. out of their everloving minds.
this place is organized. I don't want to get a twitter account to discuss May we make them proud! I don't see how their 'other avenues' are acceptable in this capacity.

Exactly DB. These boards were one neat organized place to discuss anything movie or TV show related. I'm late in adopting social media, but I don't see how it could be the same.
Many of the former members of this site will in all likelihood migrate primarily to one or two places, perhaps Facebook or Twitter, but everyone's going to be scattered about now. One of the IMDB members from the survival tv shows that I followed just created a Facebook page, so we'll probably see a lot of this, along with the already existing pages. I plan on creating a Facebook user account that is as close to my IMDB name as possible, so as to better be able to keep up with former IMDB members. -

I don't do twitter, I can't stand printrest and I got on facebook a few years ago and I couldn't get off fast enough!
although, it is funny to see a facebook page with a tv/movie character's NAME and 'PROFILE' that is funny.

As many years as I have been a hardcore internet user, I never bothered to sign up for fakebook or twitter. Something about it just didn't appeal to me. I'm only considering it now because of these boards being shutdown. I am on Pinterest, since it's the only way to view their galleries.

This is a stupid decision.
The only reason I come every day to imdb is for the message board. I don't have anywhere else to talk about the show. How will I talk about Charles'broken ribs now.
I'm going to miss these boards, I had a great time and it was fun talking with you guys! -

IMDB is going to lose a lot of traffic over this decision
Well, too bad for them.
The boards are a huge part of the website, the only reason people use IMDB is for the message boards. Do they expect us to talk movies on Twitter or their Facebook page ?
Is there another (LHOTP) discussion boards similar to this one? -

That's kind of what I'm hoping for Anna. The ideal situation is a place where boards for all of these shows already exist for the most part, and everyone just congregates there instead, without missing a beat. A place such as facebook, while not necessarily ideal, means that you can have one account and still have access to the same shows as here, as opposed to having different accounts all over the place at private boards. It's for this reason that I will create a facebook, and perhaps even a twitter account.
But I have seen more than a few private Little House Forums out there, if that's more to your liking.
