It was a sure thing. The old colloquialism is: "It's a lead pipe cinch" meaning it's a sure thing. I'm fairly certain that is what Dillon meant here when talking about the job that Eddie got nabbed on that him "up for sentencing in New Hampshire, there." ;).

I took it as a simple "in & out" Pipe.
Pick up the truck, drive it to a place and get out. Problem is, he was set up by the set-up man.
