    End credits say Anna Sage was deported to Rumania. It hasn't used that spelling officially since the 19th century, and even in the West (which was slow to catch on) no-one has used that spelling since WWII

      A quick look online shows that many in the US still spelled it Rumania well after WWII. However, since you mention WWII, the film takes place in the 1930's. So in the timeline of the film, it's before WWII, so doesn't it make sense to use the pre-WWII spelling?
