What a let down. I've wanted to see the original movie ever since I watched the remake. Now that I have, I honestly don't understand the appeal. It may be Romero, but that doesn't automatically make it a a good film. One of the most unscary "scary" movies I've seen. I didn't find it humorous, either. I'd never heard of the original until the remake came out; IMHO, the remake is superior story telling. This was two hours of military people arguing with each other, with over the top acting. The crazies didn't seem all that "crazy", more like "two joint high". I didn't care about the main characters, they seemed insipid, especially Judy. I don't know what message Romero was trying to get across because my attention kept wandering. Yawn.

Lol. You're not the only one. Bought the dvd a couple of years ago because it only costed 5 bucks, is Romero movie and had a good sleeve. I never got around watching it. I'm finally watching it now because I recorded the remake the other day and wanted to watch the original first. Well. I'm bored out of my skull. The movie does nothing for me. Hopefully the remake is better.
Edit: The remake is superior by a long shot it's a movie, compared to that borefest that is the original one.
