Has any one else noticed the similarities between these two movies? Even to the point that they both starred Lynn Lowry in a supporting role? "I Drink Your Blood" is the far better movie, but they sure seem similar in a lot of respects.

While I appreciate your opinion, I must respectfully disagree. The association of Lynn Lowry between the two films is by far no argument for what qualifies "I drink your blood" as the far superior film. The plot of "I drink your blood" revolves around a boy getting revenge against a motley crew of hippies that invaded the town. He poisons pies with rabid dog blood to which the hippies eat and thus causes a bloody massacre. The crazies was more about the social climate at the time, as we all know George Romero enjoys using the social backdrop of the era as a plot point. A government bioweapon "TRIXIE" accidently is dropped on a small town in Pennsylvania and thus causes the locals to become crazed maniacs and turn against the soldiers attempting to quarentine them. "I drink your blood" features poor acting, horrible makeup and gore sequences but succeeds in becoming a truly monumental piece of the infamous grindhouse era. While "The Crazies" doesn't feature far superior acting, it serves as a template as to the time period and to a now legendary director that made an attempt at straying away from the zombie genre that he singlehandedly turned into a cash cow franchise. I thank you for this time.

Awesome. Glad to see a post about I Drink Your Blood. Despite what the Romero fanboys say yes they were a like.
I'm a big die hard fan of Romero, but the fanboys go a little overboard. Though I disagree with Blood being better. I think The Crazies was the better of the 2, but Blood was the more fun.
