Whch to see, original or remake?

Hey guys. I have neither seen the original nor the remake and I'm wondering which you think I should see (and if both, which order?) because I'm generally a purist when it comes to originals, i.e. I'm usually not a fan of remakes, but the one made of this looks decent.

Well I watched this weekend Piranha (1978) & Piranha (2010) and The Crazies (1973) & The Crazies (2010).
The remakes have way more production value, but the originals are part of cinema history. So if you're looking for entertainment watch the remakes. If you're interested in popular culture watch the cult classics. In case you want to understand movies in general see them all. -

You probably made your decision a long time ago, but should anyone else be in the same situation as the OP and happen to stumble on these message boards, I think you should watch both films. I would personally watch the original first, but you don't have to. I think both films are equally enjoyable.
