I really enjoyed this movie.
A small quibble of a question.
When the four characters go to the Atlantic City Convention Center to "play act" the viewer gets the impression that they broke into the place somehow for a little improvised fun.
However, you see moving spotlights on the stage during a few of the sceneson Jessica in her dance routine; on David and Jessica doing their Bert Parks/Miss America schtik; and, finally on Jessica doing her Miss America runway walk.
Who is operating the spotlight?

You are forgetting that there is actually a guy (operating the spotlight) who has a beef with Dern's character. Saying he was only supposed to work until midnight, and its now 1am.
