HORROR EXPRESS is a little-known and very underrated EURO-horror film from the Golden Age of Euro-horror cult classics, the late 60s to the early 70s.
As other imdb posters opined, if you keep in mind this is a traditional, average budget Euro-horror film then you're going to tremendously enjoy it. If you're looking for another, "The Sixth Sense", expect to be disappointed.
I can't understand how a Euro-horror film, taking place in 1906 in a very atmospheric, Hammer Films-like, olden days setting totally on a train traveling east to west on the old Trans-Siberian Railroad, AND, starring classic masters of horror, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, not to mention Telly Savalas hamming it up as Detective Kojak acting as Captain Kazan - how can this movie be so little known?
This movie is a great, B-classic horror film. It blended elements of the unique British horror film genre with continental European horror film to produce a unique horror film with parts of science fiction.
The stranded, malevolent alien creature ambushing unwary local humans is a well-worn film idea, but Horror Express offered a unique package to the concept which in my opinion, worked well.

I totally agree with you. The first time I saw it, back in 1991, I had never heard about the film before, and I decided to watch it just for the sake of seeing Lee and Cushing together in another horror flick even if it would be rubbish. But I was surprised at how good it is, and enjoyed it so much that I bought the VHS some time later. Now I have the DVD and I use to watch it every few months.
