I was just watching this again and was struck as usual by what a great movie it is. Maybe not much on the horror scale but a great study in social satire that just happens to have a warlock as it's central character. Andrew Prine is magnificent as Simon, a lot of the counter-culture stuff is a bit dated but then again movies made today will be just as dated in their own way come 36 years.
Prine should have gotten some sort of award for this role, he wears it like an overcoat.

I agree. This flick is a total groovy blast. I thoroughly enjoyed the funky early 70's period hippie setting. The Satanic ceremony sequence with Andy Warhol Factory superstar Ultra Violet as the kooky devil cult leader is simply fantastic. Moreover, Andrew Prine is terrific as the powerful and charismatic warlock Simon. I'm so happy that those fine folks at Dark Sky Films are releasing this trippy treat on DVD in the immediate near future.
I write bios, therefore I am.

It was okay. I am more into films about witchcraft that are more on the horror side. This felt more like an expos about Wiccan beliefs (or at least it did to me) which isn't bad if that's what you're into but it isn't my cup of tea. It really isn't a
          bad
movie, just not what I expected or was hoping for. On a sidenote, it was interesting to see Andrew Prine in this movie because I mostly know him for The Lords of Salem which is also about witchcraft. Being the fan of the 1970s that he is and also his deep interest in the occult, I'm almost certain Rob Zombie must've been influenced by this movie.
