Yeah the stilted acting from the two non-professional leads wasn't nearly as distracting as some of the film's other iffy elements such as the bothersome and embarrassingly clunky corporate snippets with Robert Taylor, the problematic action surrounding the riot scenes and cop killing (except of course the "documentary" stuff), and the pick-up truck ramblings in LA which seem like little more than an excuse for Antonioni to pull in some of his trademark glimpses of urban environments. Still, although flawed, ZP is no where near the disaster I had been led to believe. There are some lurking merits. The stronger visual moments stand out and are timed well, making it easier to forget the disjointed pace and the otherwise dull and empty Daria and Mark whose fits of love and social rebellion ring hollow and don't seem to reflect any deeper motivations. Oh, and the soundtrack is pretty coolnothing earth shattering, but it's a positive presence.

The cinematography is fantastic, very nice audio effects too, and a great soundtrack. I have no problems with the acting either. The film really catches the utopian spirit and longing of those years - and its doomed dissolution.
You are a lunatic, Sir, and you're going to end up on the Russian front. I have a car waiting.
