Does anyone know what instrument was used to indicate that something potentially magical had occured on this series? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I believe it's an electric piano, played near the high end of its range. But the notes have a tinny, thinned-out sound; it's possible they were sped up by playing the tape at a higher speed.
Isn't the power of music a funny thing? Here and on "Bewitched" and probably elsewhere, a little one-second musical tag can express the idea that "something magical just happened" probably more effectively than anything else could. -

I haven't seen this for years, but sounds like the sound first used on "Bell Book & Candle" and popularized by Hanna-Barbera since 1965, the sound finally immortalized on "Wonder Twins" as "Powers activate", a 17 second trilogy, with a gliding organ chord, sped up electirc piano and held ringing.

Well, in the short "Powers Activate!" clip I just saw on Y**T*be, there seemed to be no electric piano after the organ chord, just something that sounded like a glockenspiel.
As for "Bell, Book & Candle", I dunno.
