No, it's not.
Die Hard has a VERY strong plot. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid has almost
no
plot. It's just a montage of scenes showing (almost) random events that happen to them over a period of time.
And the dialogue in Die Hard is much, MUCH better -

Did you really give a Adam Sandler's movies a 7 on average? That is just wonderful, you're exactly my type. I also love him, and all the Avenger movies - nothing better than these lovely neverending unoriginal movies of men with toys! Oh lord and you haven't rated any international movies? That is just soooo fetch because oh my gosh I just can't stand foreigners and their bad and stuck up movies - like that Bergman fellow, what a bore. I would totaaaally marry you, but you're just too good for me. Bohr and Schrdinger ain't got nothin' on you, smart man!

I'll bite.
Its about lots of thingsbesides just the raw entertainment value of the one liners and shtick.
Its a buddy movie.the Bob Hope road movies may have been first..but this gets credit for the genre
Its the rise of the anti-heroup until that point Hollywood was pretty much making movies about good guys besting the bad guys
Its the start of the modern movie era well perhaps not the "start" but a sign of it. The studio system was being dismantled and new directors were arriving.better film stock was being used. Hollywood was changing and this is a big graphical representation of that.
