Me too! It was so well cast, and beautifully acted and photographed. I know it's too slow for some people, but I just love it.
I was disappointed they remade it. It seems very unnecessary. I couldn't watch the remake, not after Julie Christie, Stamp, Bates and Finch.

Atmosphere, photography great. Christie's performance seemed one-dimensional. Maybe the part was written that way. For a non-epic film, it was awfully long and slow.
