Was it only coincidence that four of the crew members were played by actors who appeared in Richard Crenna's greatest ( and least known) series, Slattery's people? Simon Oakland was in "How do catch a cool bird of paradise?", Ford Rainey "When is the next Bandwagon?", Larry Gates was in "Where Vanished The Tragic Piper?" , and Gavin Macleod was in " What is the price of genius next week?"
Incidentally, WHY IS THERE NO BIOGRAPHY OF RICHARD CRENNA?

Seeing Col Trautman fighting a boarding action with 1911 in one hand and an officers' sabre in the other was one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

Yes I agree. The fight at the boom was a great scene.

            Trautman sure walked the walk.

Yeah, most of the cast did tv & movies.
