Anyone notice when Harris was behind Holman (in the boom battle scene), he clocks a guy in the head with the ax. Lights out.

I loved how the Captain went totally Rambo during that scene, just a few scenes after he was contemplating suicide.
Handgun and sword.. Hacking and shooting.. AWESOME!!! I was literally fist pumping during that scene.

That's what the old Marine Corp. used to do, before they became a large force. They aren't restricted like the army (which needs congressional approvement to go to war). The San Pablo was too small for a marine detachment. The author said something about that in the book.

Was that on purpose or by coincidence that you mention the Captian going 'Rambo'? (You're gonna need a lot of body bags!)
Keith Moon was the greatest 'Keith Moon Style' drummer ever!!

They drew first blood, not him!

Not sure if you realized, but Richard Crenna played both parts!

Crenna's Col. Sam Trautman in the Rambo films. If Collins lived long enough to be disillusioned with the way the military can be misused and unappreciated and was in the Army rather than the Navy, he'dve been Trautman.

I think that whole battle is kickass. The captain was a military Officer in Rambo, John Rambo's CO in First Blood- I liked him in that movie too.
