Good joke.
They would have been made of latex, which is non-vulcanized rubber.

His name is Spock. He may have had a second name, which his mother admitted to having great difficulty pronouncing.
His title is Mr, which (I believe) is the way a ship's executive officer is usually addressed.
Dr
Spock is Benjamin Spock. You can read about him here:

Gene Roddenberry admitted to never having heard of Benjamin Spock prior to creating Mr Spock. -

OK..I am reminded of the typical bullies ragging we nerds in the early 70s when the big syndication push started:
"Star Track and ol' Dr. Spock! That's all you think aboutStar Track and Dr. Spock!"
It never helped matters when we corrected them: "It's TREK, not Trackand it's Mr. Spock, Dr. Spock is a baby doctor!"
Ouch -

Mister Spock and not Dr Spock!
My grandfather always called him Dr. Spock, which is funny because, while he liked the character and show, he wasn't a big fan of Benjamin Spock himself.
No blah, blah, blah! -

You know it actually makes sense that your grandfather would have done that. At least here on Earth its customary to award those with advanced knowledge in one field or another doctoral degrees, isnt it?
I had the opportunity to attend a lecture by Dr. Benjamin Spock once when I was in college. He was actually a very good speaker, totally fascinating as you might suppose. The thing I remember most though was his attire: A brown suit, light-colored shirt and an extremely bright fuchsia necktie. Im not sure what the tie was made of, but it had a definite shine to it, even 50 feet back from the stage.
I told my roommate as we were leaving the lecture, Im glad he didnt decide to wear a fuchsia suit, or wed be blind for weeks! -

He wasn't as big as he once was when I was a kid during the '70s, but he did pop up here and there still until his death.
