Were the moves he used in the script or were they invented by directors or did Shatner improvise them?

Every time I watch Kirk fight the Gorn (the first part of the combat before Kirk runs off)I start crying tears of laughter.

I was watching "Ted 2" the other night, and there's a scene at comic con where a guy dressed as Kirk throws a punch, then does a shoulder roll. It looked so much like Kirk's TV moves it was hilarious.
Also funny is Michael Dorn playing a fan dressed up in a cheap Worf costume.
