Everyone Always Overstates the Action

I always hear people saying things like "Kirk always solved everything with a fist fight". While there was more action particularly when you got into season 2, it usually was in the middle act of the episode. Very rarely was the resolution Kirk just beating up the bad guy, he won with his mind.
