What does 'Do I get a coconut' mean?

In one of the episodes, Lt. Green says "do I get a coconut?" or something like that after being congratulated for blowing up a mysteron. My son and I couldn't stop laughing because it was so random, does anybody have any idea what it means? Was it like when somebody says "good job, have a cookie" or something like that?
Or does the coconut reference have something to do with him being jamaican or an islander as people have mentioned on the message board? -

It comes from the old style British funfair(probably elsewhere too?), you could aim a rifle at a target and if you hit that target you would win a prize - usually a coconut or teddy bear. The excited player would probably call out to the stallholder checking the paper target "do I win a coconut"?
So it means in this sense that you have done something skillful that has been a success- therefore, do I get a coconut?
