Warren Oates pulls a knife when threatened with a bath, because he figures he can have sex with his future sister-in-law without one. In
The Wild Bunch,
Oates says, "I don't need no bath. What I need is some of them women you're hoggin'." In this movie, when asked to join the other men in the water, he says, "I already had a bath," presumably at some time in the distant past. However, this time there is no woman for him to make love to. Maybe the studio edited that part out. He did come back with some women, after all.
