Why did Gus Trikonis's red socks so w so much under the shirt patsr he wore during the dance sequence at the Brown mansion? He looked ridiculous!

The dancers who accompanied Ms. Reynolds in the dance number "He's My Friend" are Gus Trikonis and Grover Dale and the choreographer is Peter Gennaro. The dancer wearing red socks is Mr. Dale.

Those aren't socks. He was a hick from Leadville, his legs were too long for his trousers. Those were his red longjohns.
