I still haven't seen it in Italian so I can't comment as to whether it's any more bearable in that language as opposed to English But yeah, that voice is so painfully obnoxious and it doesn't sound like the speaker is anything close to the age of the actor who plays the child. I really have no idea how they decided to keep that voice actor rather than find someone more tolerable, not to mention someone who sounds the right age. Honestly just having to listen to that horrible dub knocks this movie down by a whole point for me on a 10-point scale It just ruins my ability to empathize with that character and therefore with either of his parents, and it always pulls me out of my state of enthrallment with the film because it's so irritating.

Completely agree. It's so grating you just wish that someone had shot him in the opening scene and put him out of his misery. Awful dub.

I love the trilogy, but it grates on my nerves when I listen to the dubbed English version and hear actors reading their lines with the most unnatural inflections. The result is that the characters are saying lines that they don't understand. It just draws attention to itself.
