How forward thinking this episode was! Except we're doing it to ourselves. Social media allows us to monitor each other, our every move.

The NSA has machines that are 100 years ahead of OBIT, I'm sure.

        I'm sure you're a paranoid loony.
There are 8.2 billion people in the world. 8.19 billion of them have never heard of and don't give a fuck about Charlie Kirk. Get over it.

The best episode of the series and the most still relevant today.
I'll let you know when I come-up with a new signature,
          .

Such a brilliant episode. Amazing how relevant it is half a century later. Nowhere better than in this speech:

Even in this episode, there is a clear inference that we will indeed "do it to ourselves".

Yes, OBIT turned out to be a very prophetic episode.

"The machines are everywhere!" I wonder how much surveillance Jeff Corey was subjected to while he was blacklisted.

To me the really scary thing about the episode is, between "reality" TV shows and the internet how many people now eagerly LINE UP to display their private lives to anyone interested in watching.
Still, the Control Voice's final speech was one of the most challenging things I've heard on TV:
"In the last analysis, dear friends, whether OBIT lives up to its name or notwill depend on you."
A TV show, a "silly" monster of the week TV show is challenging me, directly ("dear friend") to live a moral life - wow! (I hope I've lived up to what it was asking of me in 1963.)
